ASC joins the Alliance for Childhood Vaccination and collaborates with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in the fight against infant mortality.

Now more than ever, the importance of vaccines in the world is evident. If vaccination routines are interrupted in many countries, other epidemics with more mortality, such as pneumonia, measles, HIV or polio, will be added to COVID-19.

Aware of this, at ASC we have contributed to this fight, in which we have been participating for some years. That is why we collaborate with Gavi, the International Alliance for Childhood Vaccination.

The contribution of our company and others will be used to distribute the pneumococcal vaccine in Mozambique, thus protecting the child population against pneumonia (the main cause of global infant mortality).

As part of its mission to save lives, reduce poverty and protect the world from the threat of epidemics, Gavi has helped vaccinate more than 760 million children in the world’s poorest countries, preventing more than 13 million deaths since the year 2000.
